BALTIMORE, MD – As part of the state’s Customer Service Promise, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) had several of its consumer education publications translated into Korean and Spanish. The agency can also provide translation services in languages other than Korean and Spanish for Marylanders whose first language is not English.
“The Maryland Insurance Administration is committed to providing valuable insurance information and services to the Korean and Spanish speaking communities in our state,” said Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer, Jr. “This move is in response to specific feedback that we received from Marylanders looking for unbiased educational material in a different language. As consumers shop for insurance coverage in the marketplace, it’s important to have easy to understand guidance in their first language.”
The Insurance Administration’s Consumer Education and Advocacy Unit conducts public outreach throughout the year across the state of Maryland to help citizens understand the details of insurance. To see where the team will be in the future, please go here: [insert link to event calendar].
